The Ersham Lodge Hotel has for a number of years built up an enviable reputation for exceptional quality of service at an affordable and realistic price. The friendly and enthusiastic hotel owners, Elaine & David Kemp have continued the tradition since they took over ownership of the hotel and have firmly established the Ersham Lodge as one of Canterbury's premier bed & breakfast hotels. The original building was built in a Tudor style during the early part of the last century and it now has bags of charm and character which over the years has developed a unique elegance and ambience all of its own.
Our location is so perfect being just outside the City centre leaving you with just a short walk to all of Canterbury's attractions and eateries. We have sufficient off road car parking available on our well lit car park at the front of the building.
The Ersham Lodge Hotel has delightfully appointed public areas and bedrooms that have been carefully and tastefully re-modeled and decorated to remain in keeping with the age and style of the building. All of the bedrooms have a colour television, clock radio, are centrally heated, and are en-suite with their own bathroom and toilet. Hospitality tea/coffee trays are provided in all of our bedrooms. Pay phone available at all times.
Our choice of bedroom options are a double bedroom, twin bedroom, or single bedroom, but we also have family bedrooms, triple bedrooms, and for that special romantic occasion a Four Poster bedroom. Whenever required we are also able to increase the capacity of a bedroom by adding an additional bed or babies cot.
Our computerised booking system can quickly tell you of room availability and the total cost of your booking. Your booking confirmation can be posted, emailed, or faxed to you immediately that we receive your booking, but either way you can be assured that once we have your booking instructions, the room is guaranteed and held in your name pending your safe arrival in Canterbury. All we need is your credit card details to secure the bedroom on your behalf.
Your entrance to the hotel is through our welcoming lobby and in through our galleried reception area. With the minimum of delay at check in you will be directed to your bedroom.
The hotel garden is a gem in the city. Perfectly tended and typically English, with close mown lawns and flower borders of roses, chrysanthemums, and bedding plants. We also have a magnificent old wisteria, and fruit trees all growing in harmony. The garden is south facing and sunny with ample outside furniture for your use, some placed in the sun and some in the shade. Don't forget that Canterbury is not just for sight seeing, this part of England is one of the sunniest and driest areas in the country, which may also help you to relax and unwind in our own 'Garden of England'.
